3rd Sphere: INTENSIVE TRAINING

Third sphere: Series of One-Day Intensive Practicums.

Emerging leaders in biblical counselling are trained by Dr Harris before the eyes of observers. “Sharpening the Ax” is a skills training program, without lectures, open to the public. This practicum refines the practical abilities of the Coram Deo leaders and stimulates all present to consider how Scripture

can be wisely applied to various counselling situations.

 Components of “Sharpening the Ax:”

•  viewing recorded counselling segments (on DVD)
• role play variants by trainees based on observed segments
• identification of counsellor strategies and effectiveness
• demonstrations by Dr Harris (including the use of Scripture and The Physician’s Instruments)
• evaluation of variants (Dr Harris and Coram Deo leaders)
• question and answer periods (for observers)
