Ron Harris

The earlier degrees are music; Ron being an accomplished pianist and composer when he met harpist/future wife Linda in the early 1970s. Very soon after, he met Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Upon finishing his Masters in Music Composition at the University of Pennsylvania, Ron began theological studies at Westminster Seminary to help him write Christian music. However his interest in theology intensified quickly, leading to many years of study. 

The M.Div., D.Min., are from Westminster Theological Seminary,   Philadelphia , USA ) Ron was Academic Dean (2002-2006) and then Professor and Dean of Curriculum and Instructional Design (2007) with Ukraine Family Institute in Kyiv , Ukraine . Currently Dr. Harris continues to train leaders under the name “Storehouse of the King.” In this Storehouse ministry he is developing biblical counselling resources for evangelical churches in Ukraine and the Russian speaking world, assisting teaching teams of biblical counselling and developing an intensive training apprenticeship for future leaders of biblical counselling. Dr. Harris has been an ordained minister since 1984, and a member of The National Association of Biblical Counsellors since 1986. He founded and directed Wellspring of Life Biblical Counselling Ministry in Canada in 1991 and directed it until 2002. In 2002 he and his wife Linda became missionaries to develop church-based biblical counselling in Ukraine (and other Russian-speaking countries). Since moving to Kyiv in 2002, he has taught biblical counselling in Ukraine and Russia (as well as Ontario , Canada and Michigan , USA ) to hundreds of church leaders, including seminary and Bible college students, missionaries in training, pastors, and gifted church members. He has authored the ‘Entering ZionWith Singing’ (article, in Journal of Pastoral Practice) and 12 unpublished syllabi [Russian] for in-class instruction in a three-year intensive training program in biblical counselling. In addition Dr. Harris has authored ‘When You Need Help: How to Choose a Counsellor,’ The Soul’s Conflict: Light in Darkness, Catechism for Counsellors, The Physician’s Instruments, and Arrows of the Almighty: Every Moment is God’s Moment (in process) [all translated and published in Russian]. Ron and Linda lived in Ukraine for 8 years . They currently minister to Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Germany from their home base in their homeland Canada, and through trips to those countries. They have three children: Angela Marie (b.1980), Dawna Laurie (b.1981), and Noel Adam (b.1985).
